A Property Design entry must include the following items, assembled in a digital presentation format that is loaded on a flash dive and must be physically submitted (to be returned at the end of the festival) and a presentation.
- Design Concept: Explain how and why choices were made, how those choices related to the production. Emphasis is placed on creativity, collaboration, storytelling, as well as how your design supported the overall concept of the production.
- Prop List: This should be a props list for show production and include:
- Act/Scene/Page used
- Prop name
- Character who uses it
- Prop Type
- Hand
- Personal
- Set
- Safety notes
- Was a rehearsal prop required/requested
- Examples or Photographs: Showcased in a digital presentation that demonstrate the concept and props created for the production. Please note examples should be PG-rated, no weaponry, drug/alcohol paraphernalia, and no larger than easily carried by one hand.
- Running Information: Such as set photographs of prop locations, pictures of prop table/area layouts, or other information used to ensure props were set and distributed properly showcased in a digital presentation
- Oral Presentation: The student designer(s) must deliver a presentation of their prop design entry that effectively presents and represents their design. Oral presentations have a time limit of five (5) minutes and may utilize either PowerPoint, Google Slides, or PDFs.
Please be prepared to answer questions from the adjudicator(s) regarding the presentation.
